This morning whilst innocently reading Elastic Waist, I developed a new condition, Bento Rage...
...
There are times when living in the UK frustrates me, especially because it seems big, bloody America gets everything first - EVERYTHING! Films and half of the decent TV shows in existence air there first, the US has all of the decent plus size clothing shops and now the bastards get this first, a named lunch box called Mr Bento. Oh no not just MR, but there is also a Ms and a Mini one too.
Getting a Mr Bento to the UK should be simple? You'd think so... But oh no bloody amazon dot com won't ship it to the UK for some random reason and neither will the majority of other online shops in the US either! Obviously if I could speak and read Japanese I'd order Mr Bento from some super hi-tech website that would probably have him shipped here overnight, but as I don't, I have had to resort to Ebay.
Thanks to goodness of this kind seller I will (and boyfriend) I will soon receiving a Zojirushi Classic Lunch Jar. I will be renaming it either Reverend or Admiral Bento.
I am very excited now about the arrival of my Bento and am already planning in my head many delicious food stuffs to take to work in it, especially as there is a rather snooty notice in my work staff room warning you against microwaving any potentially smelly food...
Funny, I often feel that way about the UK.

Ah weetabix, I guess the grass is always greener...
Thanks for the info Kriss! Have decided that as I work in a university my bento will be Professor Bento... :)

But what is this - do you heat it at home and then take it to work and don't need to heat it again?

You should try this site : casabento.com I have just ordered a new box from them after leaving my other one on the bus (I ordered it from JList and by the time I'd paid import tax and delivery the £15.99 box cost almost £50 - can you tell I was annoyed?)
